What WebmasterNinja checks.

WebmasterNinja runs three kinds of check on the page you're viewing: your Google Search Console performance, on-page SEO hygiene, and how ready the page is to be cited by AI answer engines. Every result points to the data or the markup it came from.

Google sign-in · read-only

Search Console, for sites you own

Sign in with Google and the extension reads your verified sites' performance, then turns it into things to do. Nothing is written back to your account.

Quick wins

Striking-distance queries you almost rank for, sorted by the clicks each one could bring.

Decay

Queries quietly losing clicks versus the period before, before the drop becomes a trend.

Overlap

Pages of yours that compete for the same query, so you can pick one to lead.

Internal links

Pages worth linking to, chosen from queries you already rank for elsewhere.

Topic coverage

Which subtopics your site covers and where the gaps are, drawn from your own query data.

No sign-in needed

On-page SEO, on any page

The on-page checks read the current page in your browser and work on any site, including ones you don't own. What gets flagged is what's actually in the markup.

On-page hygiene

  • Title and meta description length and presence.
  • Heading order, with one H1 and no skipped levels.
  • Canonical, hreflang, and indexability (noindex, robots).
  • Image alt coverage, viewport, and Open Graph tags.

Link health

Click "Scan links" and the extension checks the links on the current page.

It keeps broken links separate from links that are only bot-blocked, so you don't chase a 403 that real visitors never see.

The differentiator

GEO readiness

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization: how well a page is built to be quoted by AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews. WebmasterNinja scores it with a rule-based model, so no LLM decides your number.

The score must survive a skeptical SEO. Every scored line cites its evidence and its measured lift, anchored to published effect sizes like Aggarwal et al. 2024, not folklore.

For writers & editors

A copy-paste content brief

One click gives you a brief for the page: the sections worth adding and the questions worth answering. It only suggests what the page's own signals and your data support, so there's nothing invented to talk you out of later.

By design

What it won't do

WebmasterNinja doesn't hand you a vanity score or invent a "content gap" to fill space. When it can't back a suggestion with your Search Console data, the page's HTML, or a cited source, it leaves that section blank instead of guessing. It also refuses to score debunked signals like schema-as-a-ranking-lever or llms.txt. See how the pieces fit on the homepage or read the methodology.
